The Scottish Hellenic Society – Edinburgh Branch. A brief account, by Keith Rutter (15/5/2023)

Dr Eva Mitchell

The Scottish Hellenic Society of Edinburgh was inaugurated in 1965. The objects of the Society are to encourage and promote mutual interests in Greek and Scottish culture, life, and thought both past and present, to stimulate the exchange of ideas between Greece and Scotland, and to encourage mutual friendship and understanding.

The Society organises lectures in the winter months (October to March) on a wide range of topics, and together with the Societies in Aberdeen, Glasgow, and St Andrews, and the Friends of the British School at Athens, takes part in a Greek Day of guest lecturers and activities at a weekend every two years.

Membership is £20 a year, students £1
